🐅 Chaitra Navratri Day 3: Worship of Maa Chandraghanta – The Goddess of Courage & Grace

🕉️ Who is Maa Chandraghanta?

Maa Chandraghanta is the third form of Goddess Durga, known for her fearless form and motherly protection. She is named after the crescent moon (chandra) that adorns her forehead like a bell (ghanta). She rides a fierce tiger, symbolizing bravery and strength, yet her face remains calm and kind, reassuring her devotees of protection and peace.

📜 The Story of Maa Chandraghanta:

After marrying Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati took on the form of Chandraghanta to protect the world from evil. When demons tried to invade the heavens, she mounted a tiger and roared into battle, defeating many powerful asuras.

Her crescent-moon-shaped bell produced a sound that paralyzed the enemies and removed negativity. Despite her warrior form, she remained compassionate to her devotees, blessing them with fearlessness, peace, and happiness.

🔮 Symbolism:

  • Crescent moon on forehead: Eternal calm amidst chaos
  • Tiger mount: Fierce energy, ready for battle
  • Ten hands holding weapons: Preparedness and power
