Singapore celebrates Diwali with these gorgeously themed buses and trains

This Diwali, Singapore’s Land Transport Authority followed-up on last year’s successful Deepavali-themed trains and did the same this year too. These trains and buses, adorned with gorgeous designs and Indian motifs will play till the end of October.

Any festival, apart from upholding the festive spirit also brings people together. They celebrate the cause and a specific culture and the same is true for Diwali. Last year Singapore’s famous Mass Rapid Transit, managed by Land Transport Authority (LTR), the statutory board under the Ministry of Transport of Government of Singapore, had launched Diwali-themed train on October 15. The designs and the decorations had taken the commuters by surprise. Such was the success, that the board yet again kick-started their Diwali celebrations this year with Deepawali-themed trains. These trains and buses, adorned with gorgeous designs and Indian motifs will ply from now till the end of October. The pictures were shared by LTR on their Facebook page and are a complete visual treat.

“Celebrate the Festival of Lights with your own unique Deepavali commute this year! Our #Deepavali themed trains and station are back with a different but equally stunning decoration – featuring majestic elephants and rangoli motifs that symbolise luck ? From now till end Oct, the themed trains will run on the North East Line (#NEL) and Downtown Line (#DTL). And here’s something extra special for 2017 – we’re also launching five Deepavali themed buses on Services 23, 56, 65, 147 and 166 ??
