In fact, he was not always a pure PEACE LOVING man and he allowed for violence as a last resort.
He volunteered to fight in three wars in in his middle age : The Boer War, World War I and The Zulu War.
In a famous statement about freedom of India, Gandhi said: “If a fight is inevitable I would expect every son of the soil to contribute his mite…I would not flinch from sacrificing a million lives for India’s liberty.”

For me PERSONALLY, even if these things are true then they are what makes him all the more admirable. It is not easy to change but he became ‘the change he wanted to see in the world’.
